TANZANIA: Building PPP Institutional Support

Building on previous PPIAF support this program seeks to work in close partnership with other agencies involved in PPP development and help the government of Tanzania accelerate the PPP program to facilitate private investment. By strengthening the legislative, institutional, financial and technical aspects of the PPP framework, Tanzania will be in a better position to more effectively develop and realize the benefits of PPPs, including increased private investments in infrastructure, increased employment opportunities, improved service delivery to enterprises and the population in general, and an improved fiscal impact on government.

The objectives for this program are:

• Identifying viable PPP project pipelines
• Improve the legal, institutional, financial, and technical framework
• To build institutions’ capacity to implement PPPs
• Creation of a PPP facilitation fund (PPPFF)
